Woman sleeping under navy blue Hush sheets

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’ve heard how great our bamboo sheets are, but you’re put off by the price tag. Are Hush sheets good enough to justify the cost? How can you be sure you’re really getting the value you’re paying for?

We’re not going to tell you to take our word for it. It’s always best to do some research on your own. That’s what we did while creating our Iced 2.0 cooling sheets — we set out on a world tour of textile processing facilities, testing hundreds of different fabrics and watching how they were made. And we scoured the globe for ethical suppliers who could make bamboo sheets that meet our exacting standards.

That’s probably more research than you’re up for right now. But we can suggest some competitors you should check out, as well as some things to consider when comparing their bed sheets with ours. We want to help you feel certain that the Iced 2.0 sheets are right for you before you buy. Keep reading to learn why Hush bamboo sheets offer the best value for your dollar.

Do Hush Sheets Work?

First things first: do Hush sheets really feel as great as everyone says? The short answer is “Yes.” The long answer is “Yes, and here’s why.” Take a look at some of the things our customers have to say about the Hush cooling bamboo sheets:

Great For Hot Sleepers

“These sheets did not disappoint! I was suffering all summer long with night sweats until I'd finally had enough. These sheets have made such a huge difference for me.”

— Kennedy, 10/11/2022

Hush sheets are made of 100% bamboo viscose, an extremely breathable fabric derived from sustainably sourced grass. (Yes, bamboo is actually a grass!) Other kinds of bedding can trap you in a pocket of your own body heat, but bamboo sheets keep you cool by allowing hot air to flow out through their porous weave. They also wick away sweat to boost your body’s evaporative cooling.

On top of the natural cooling properties of bamboo, we’ve added our game-changing Iced 2.0 fabric finish, which draws heat away from your body and lets it diffuse into the night air.

Super-Soft

“The softest and most comfortable sheets I’ve ever used.”

— Kat B., 1/23/2023

Another reason to love our bamboo sheets is their incredible softness. The fibers are long, slender, and naturally smooth, minimizing friction against your body. We take that softness to the next level by using heavy-duty granite rollers to flatten out even the tiniest protruding threads and fiber ends. Hush sheets feel almost more liquid than solid as they drape gently over your body.

Durable and Long-Lasting

“I’ve washed them maybe 6x since I got them and the quality is still the same.”

— Marianne M., 1/17/2023

Part of the value of Hush sheets lies in how well they stand up to wear and tear. We’re committed to sourcing only the strongest fabric, to the point that we avoid bamboo harvested during hot weather (which weakens the fibers). And the smoothing treatment we described above removes loose ends that could snag on fingernails or buttons and cause tears. Hush bamboo sheets can go through wash after wash without pilling, ripping, or wearing thin.

Convenient Buying Process

“Hush has been a pleasure to deal with since day one. Professional, polite, accommodating.”

— Chris K., 12/18/2022

Superb Value For the Price

“I’m really considering getting a set for some other family members, including myself. The price might look a bit high, but honestly, it’s worth every penny.”

— Megan D., 2/9/2023

A Queen-size set of Hush sheets is just $169. That may seem expensive if you’re comparing them to bargain-bin sheets from a big box store. But as you’ll see below, it’s quite affordable by the standards of high-quality cooling sheets, and lots of companies charge more for bedding that does less. Scroll down to see how Hush sheets compare with others in their class.

Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set

Bed with cream-colored sheets with fresh on the side table.

Queen Base Price: $369 for 1 Fitted Sheet, 1 Flat Sheet, and 2 Pillowcases

Material: 100% bamboo viscose

Free Shipping: U.S. customers only

Trial Period: 100 nights

At first glance, Cozy Earth sheets seem like they’ve got it all. Pure bamboo viscose for coolness and moisture-wicking ability. Sustainably sourced fabric made from eco-friendly materials. And a delightful softness vouched for by Oprah herself.

Here’s the thing, though: Hush has all of that stuff too (well, except for the celebrity seal of approval). Though they have all the benefits of bamboo sheets, the Cozy Earth set lacks our proprietary cooling finish and impressive pilling resistance.

Yet these sheets cost more than twice as much as ours — $369 vs. $169 for a Queen-size set. It’s hard to avoid the impression that you’re mostly paying for the bragging rights that come with sleeping on Oprah’s favorite sheets.

Silk & Snow Flax Linen Bed Sheets

Stack of pillows and bed sheet

Queen Base Price: $230 for 1 Fitted Sheet and 2 Pillowcases ($130 Flat Sheet sold separately)

Material: 100% flax linen

Free Shipping: Canada and continental U.S.

Trial Period: 100 nights

Silk & Snow’s sheets are made from European flax linen, which is a popular material for cooling bed sheets since it’s quite airy and breathable. Linen also tends to be very durable, and it only gets softer as you wash it. However, linen will always feel rough compared to bamboo, and its high fabric weight may be uncomfortable for some sleepers.

Linen is also much pricier than bamboo. Unless the Silk & Snow sheets are on sale, they’ll cost you $230, and that’s for the fitted sheet and pillowcases only — adding a flat sheet brings the price up to $330. Unless you really crave the feel of linen, Hush sheets have the clear advantage when it comes to value.

Casper Hyperlite Sheet Set

Gray sheets and pillowcases

Queen Base Price: $179 for 1 Fitted Sheet, 1 Flat Sheet, and 2 Pillowcases

Material: 100% eucalyptus TencelTM

Free Shipping: Contiguous U.S. and Canada (except Yukon, Northwest, and Nunavut territories)

Trial Period: 30 nights

The Hyperlite sheets from Casper probably come closer to Hush than any other bedding in terms of pure cooling power. They’re made of a porous fabric derived from eucalyptus wood that has similar properties to bamboo viscose. Casper also uses a cross-hatched weave that includes stripes where the fabric is even thinner to permit more airflow. And the low thread count of 200 makes them very lightweight.

This unique approach does cut down on the durability of the Hyperlite sheets, though. Quite a few customers found that the ultra-thin bedding ripped easily, and there were also some issues with pilling. Since they cost slightly more than Hush sheets and don’t last as long, we think it’s fair to say our sheet set offers more for your dollar.

Purple SoftStretch Sheet Set

White sheets and pillows on bed with shadows of trees from sunlight

Queen Base Price: $189 for 1 Fitted Sheet, 1 Flat Sheet, and 2 Pillowcases

Material: 63% bamboo viscose, 27% polyester, 10% spandex

Free Shipping: Contiguous U.S. only (available in Canada from Sleep Country, but base price is much higher)

Trial Period: 30 nights

The makers of the unique Purple mattress have created their own cooling sheets to go with it. The SoftStretch fabric is made by blending bamboo viscose with stretchy spandex and polyester. They’re designed to mimic the flexibility of Purple’s signature bed. Compared to pure bamboo sheets, the SoftStretch bedding has a more plush, cozy feel.

Polyester and spandex lack the breathability of bamboo viscose, so introducing them into the mix makes these sheets much less cool than the Hush sheets. Those other fabrics also aren’t as durable as bamboo.

And while purple sheets might be tailored for the Purple mattress, they may have trouble fitting over other beds — the fitted sheet only has 11-inch-deep pockets. Lots of modern mattresses are much thicker than that, which is why we gave our Hush bamboo sheets a 16-inch pocket depth.

Endy Organic Cotton Sheets

Woman sleeping under light blue sheets

Queen Base Price: $125 for 1 Fitted Sheet, 1 Flat Sheet, and 2 Pillowcases

Material: 100% organic cotton

Free Shipping: All Canadian provinces

Trial Period: 60 nights

These are great sheets for a true bargain hunter, with a base price even lower than ours. Cotton is less cool and silky than bamboo, but the Endy sheets are lightweight and not overly stuffy. They have a smooth sateen weave that gives them a soft, touchable feel. And they’re certified organic, making them a bit more eco-friendly than your average cotton sheets.

However, Endy’s bedding simply can’t compete with Hush bamboo sheets for softness and coolness. It’s also a bit concerning that the company doesn’t specify what variety of cotton they use. That’s typically a sign that it’s a short-staple variety that’s rougher and less durable than premium long-staple cotton. This suggests that you may not be able to count on Endy sheets to last especially long.
